Cookie Cocktail
My homage to the samoa girl scout cookie. Macarons with Fleur de sel caramel combined with Chocolate ganache and just a hint of rum. I heard Cora Carmody speak about the Technology Goddesses, a group that teaches girl scouts about technology. In honor of her coming to my Women's Network Meeting, and due to Mac Tweets having a boozy cookie challenge, I came up with this combo. I have to say I would put more than a hint of coconut rum in next time. My recipe was
2 Cups Heavy Cream
1/4 Cup Coconut Rum
2 1/4 Cups Chocolate Chips.
Next time I'd do double the rum as you really couldn't taste it unless you were really searching for it.
However they were still a chocolate, caramel delight!
a quickr pickr post
I love the way the shells look! Why can't I get mine to shine like that? And these macs have everything I absolutely love: chocolate, caramel au beurre salé and rum! Oooh fabulous! Welcome back with a passion! We love having you in our Macwteets kitchen!
ReplyDeleteMmmm I love how you added the fleur de sel caramel, it does sound like a choc caramel sensation.
ReplyDeleteI love the coconut rum addition. Very pretty macs.
ReplyDeleteTalofa! Very good homage to the Samoa cookies with the coconut, caramel and chocolate. Those kiddie cookies really have a grown-up flavor when you kicked it up with rum. :-)
ReplyDeletegiiiiiiiiiirrrrrllll...you done good here
ReplyDeleteWhat a great homage and what utterly beautiful and shiny shells...wow! Love the composition too! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank you all for the kind comments! I've been taking a baking break since I found out I was pregnant. Today I had some down time so I thought I'd catch up on some blogging! I really want to make some more macs, but I have to fight exhaustion and macs are so demanding!
